Fire Units Updates
April 15, 2024
Hello Neighbors,
I'm sure many of you have noticed by now, but the fire damaged units were demoed on Monday, April 8th! Shortly after speaking with a representative from City Council I heard from our General Contractor that we had received our permits for demolition and plans were being laid out. If you're a member of our Facebook group, you'll know that we had a live feed going of the demo, and a time lapse was posted later in the evening. It was a bittersweet day for the fire victims. but refreshing to see such a tarnish removed from our community.
Now we wait for the final Proof of Loss statement to be delivered to State Farm by our Public Adjuster. This will force their hand to make a final decision on the slab for the units, as well as a final decision on cost so we can get started on the rebuild process. Once this hurdle is crossed, we'll be able to have a better look at a timeline of returning homes to the fire victims and getting our community back in one piece.
Hoping for quick movements,
Amy

Dear Neighbors,
I know many of you have expressed questions, concerns, and frustrations regarding the length of time it has taken for progress to be seen on the fire units. I completely understand and mirror the same feelings. At the end of this month, it will be nine months since the fire, and our homes have yet to be torn down, and we have yet to even have an estimate of when we’ll return home. It’s very easy to feel these frustrations when you can’t see any visual progress happening.
Thankfully, for myself and the other fire victims, we can gain updates from Kami and the Public Adjuster as work progresses along. I hope that creating a page to share progress and updates will help our homeowners feel more informed and understand that work is being done, even if it’s not physically on site.
Over the next few weeks, I will be updating the page with some of the larger updates that we’ve had over the last few months, starting with the most recent. If you have any suggestions for updates, please feel free to email or text/call, and I’ll work on adding in more information.
Thank you,
Amy Nutter

Plea to Pike Township City Councilor
February 28, 2024
On Friday, February 23rd I sent an email to our City Councilor in an attempt to hopefully gain some pressure with Marion County and the State of Indiana as we wait for permits for both demolition and construction for the fire units. Below is the additional document attached to the email with the 3 main issues we are facing for the fire victims and community. I will also include the links as well.
As of February 28th, I have not received a response. I plan on reaching out by phone later this week to follow up on my email.

Email Updates from Public Adjuster and General Contractor
February 28, 2024
We were hoping to have our Public Adjuster join our HOA meeting on the 21st, but unfortunately he was unable to join due to illness. He did provide an email update with where we stand on a handful of issues.
Our General Contractor also provided an update on the permit progress. It seems he has been consistently reaching out for updates on the status of the permit approval, but has not been able to gain much insight.
